Thanks to support from Morris-Jenkins, a visit to the hospital is much more friendly and reassuring for patients and their families. The local heating and air conditioning company has committed $50,000 annually to Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH) to fund a special recognition program designed to help patients celebrate milestones – such as end of treatment, receipt of a new kidney/liver/heart, birthdays during hospitalization, and more.
In addition to the special recognition program, Morris-Jenkins’ generosity provides children at LCH with a much more visual “ride” as they are transferred from pre-operative care to the operating room. The company has provided support for a large mural painted by Deloss McGraw, the internationally known artist who also painted the three-story mural in the Overcash Atrium of Levine Children’s Hospital. The new mural adorns the walls of the hospital’s 5th Floor corridor that leads patients from pre-op into the surgical suites. The mural features bold colors and depicts verses from three different poets.
“We are grateful for Morris-Jenkins’ ongoing commitment to our hospital,” said Martha Whitecotton, President of LCH. “Their gifts not only enable us to restore a sense of normalcy to our patients’ lives – but they do so in a bright, fun, and positive manner.”
